But we do more than just visit the locations. We combine them in a way that tells the complete story of this groundbreaking film. Learn about the 1949 case in Maryland that inspired William Peter Blatty to write the novel and screenplay. See the largely unchanged locations from Blatty's original perspective, and how they were brought to life by Director William Freidkin. Standard Tour. Our standard tour covers about 1 mile and takes approximately 2 hours. We visit all the filming locations both interior and exterior at Georgetown University. We then retrace Chris MacNeil's iconic "walk home" scene precisely as described by William Peter Blatty in the novel. We visit the famous MacNeil House at 36th and Prospect and of course end at the legendary Exorcist Steps. Afterward relax with fellow fans at our reserved section at The Tombs and enjoy special prices on drinks and appetizers!

Extended Tour. Our extended tour takes about 3 hours and visits all the locations of the Standard Tour, but includes little known or hard to find filming locations a little further from the Georgetown University campus. This includes locations along the beautiful C&O canal, The Georgetown Christ Church near 31st and O Street and of course Martin's Tavern on Wisconsin. This longer version also gives us a chance to see more of historic Georgetown including the Forrest Marbury House, The Old Georgetown Market, Duval Foundry, the home of Ricard Todd Lincoln, and more.
